Family account for Client Portal
Allow an individual to access multiple accounts under one client portal. I work with families and the parent should be able to access statements and appointment information for all members of their household by logging into one client portal account.

With the client’s contact network, one parent or guardian can have access to additional accounts under one login. Check out our release notes for more information!

Yes! I'm in agreement here for 1. family accounts for multiple children and 2. for multiple emails (divorced parents) for the same child.

Many times children in the family are also being seen in the same office and by default have the same email address as their parents. It is very unusual to ask a parent to create a new email account in order to complete their children's intake forms and be able to have access to Telehealth. The system should be modified to use other indictors in addition to the email address for "use name" so that the same email address can be used for multiple members of the same family.

For clients who have more than one email on an account, I also recommend the ability to send messages to any of the emails on record. As it is now, we can only use the primary email on the account.

Yes! we must have a way for parents to sign consents for clients.

I have a family like this also--one email for multiple clients

YES We must have a way for two parents to sign the informed consent on one kiddo that I see in therapy. We have to keep those parent files separate in divorce situations- I do not want Mom to have access to work I do with Dad regarding his parenting.

This is particularly important with Covid since so many families are seeking therapy for multiple family members. Please make this change as soon as possible.

Please, this would be so helpful! Also, potentially being able to have two emails, for families where the parents are divorced.

Yes this please. It's impossible to do intakes through the system as you can't invite the same email to the portal if it's on more than one account.

Have the ability to have the same primary email on numerous accounts(especially for families with children). As a provider/team member I have the same email login for several different Theranest accounts and am provided with bullet with the organization name next to them to select which account I would like to login to. The client portion could be the same with all the family members or clients listed that have their email affiliated with the chart.

PLEASE add family accounts. I have to side-step our TheraNest process for families because it's way too much to ask busy parents (especially during COVID) to create multiple accounts, then fill out all the information we need, etc. just to get underway. I have some colleagues who don't use TN for this reason (especially multi-disciplinary practices) so I don't think I'd be alone in being able to make use of it. Please consider! Thanks.

Lot’s of good feedback and ideas on this comment thread. I’m sure some might need to be harmonized in whatever solution emerges out of this. I just want to say, YES, I have experienced almost all of these issues as well, and will eagerly anticipate some solution forthcoming in response to these great ideas.

We send intake forms through the client portal. This gets frustrating when it's a large family that all need different email accounts!

It is necessary that parents of minor clients be able to access all of their children's accounts using the same email and password. It is very inconvenient for parents to have to create a different email for every child being seen in order to use the client portal.

completely agree. I need to be able to work with families but still keep minor information private,

I need to start inviting an adolescent client to the portal for telehealth sessions, but don’t want them to see the secure messages I’ve previously exchanged with the client’s mother. I’d also like to be able to exchange secure messages with both going forward, without one being able to see the other’s communications.

Would welcome the feature of a "family account" as the way it currently is creates an impediment to registering new families with multiple members.

Adding to the growing list of comments here that a parent needs to be able to have the ability to log in to the client portal for more than one child with the same email.

I would love to have a "family" account for convenience for myself as the counselor and for the families themselves. Would it be possible to have the account with a common access and for each family member to have their own "private code" or "access word" that is special to them under the account to maintain HIPAA compliance, yet allow ease of accessibility for parents to pay bills or set up accounts?

This would be extremely helpful! I work with children and often I work with both siblings. It's a pain for the parent to use two logins for me.
