Family account for Client Portal
Allow an individual to access multiple accounts under one client portal. I work with families and the parent should be able to access statements and appointment information for all members of their household by logging into one client portal account.

With the client’s contact network, one parent or guardian can have access to additional accounts under one login. Check out our release notes for more information!

Yes - this would be helpful when working with multiple members of the same family. Thank you.

Family accounts are much needed, especially for children seeing different therapists in our practice.

Having family accounts would help our practice.

This is a regular occurrence for our practice and I have to believe that it’s not different for other counseling practices. If this isn’t something Theranest can fix we have to decide if Theranest is the right tool for us.

TheraNest should have a way for parents with multiple dependents receiving services to be linked to one email account. It’s a lot to ask parents to have a separate email account for each child receiving services. I would be annoyed if receiving services from a practice if I had to complete a client portal for each dependent. Additionally some parents do not have multiple email accounts. In these instances documents have to be completed manually. It would be helpful to have a way for parents to have all their dependents ties to one email address and client portal for ease of access and convenience.

TheraNest should have a way for parents with multiple dependents receiving services to be linked to one email. The issue I've encountered is parents do not have multiple emails so when a second or third child is added, the intake paperwork must be done manually for any additional clients within the same family. It would be very helpful to be able to have multiple dependent clients on one account for parents with more than one child receiving services. Not many parents have more than one email.

For my kids' physical health clinic, I log into one portal and click between names of all the people in the family. I can download letters, send messages, see charting, etc. For kids under 14, this should be standard. For people 14 or 18 and older the chart could have restricted portions but allowing for billing and completion of and signing of paperwork.

TheraNest is supposed to cover the base of electronic completion of paperwork. A major issue right now is what if the the client is 14 or older OR what if the client is a college student whose parents pay for therapy. That means we need forms for the client completed by somebody else. Right now the forms created in the client portal are not user friendly if they are printed as a pdf. There also is no way to give the payor a separate login to complete financial agreement and credit card authorization.

Yes, whatever you can do to allow one parent to have several accounts for children using their one email would be appreciated! I dread having to ask parents to set up a 2nd nd 3rd e-mail for each child. There needs to be a secondary way to designate each separate child in the portal other than the parents' e-mail.
At present we are having to register first child in the portal and then just manually enter and manually send forms to parent for 2nd or 3rd child.

There should be a way to link multiple minor children to one login. Not every parent has multiple email addresses, and some parents are not tech savvy, it's not always easy to expect one parent to have a different login address for each child. Obviously to remain HIPAA compliant, the feature should only be available for minors, and could be a toggle/check box you can use to "link to existing login" so that a parent can access forms/appointments for all their children.

We were told when signing up with Theranest that allowing one email for client's in the same family was already in the works with expected completion at the end of January 2021. Is there a new date of completion?

I would not have bought this software if I knew this policy in advance. As parent of 3 children, every other provider I use has one portal for my children. Are they all violating HIPPA regulations?

It would be beneficial to be able to have 2 different parents have their own log in to schedule, make payments, and send confidential information. This is especially true for children with divorced parents who both want involvement in treatment. Thanks!

It would be very helpful to be able to have multiple dependent clients on one account for parents who have more than one child using our services.

I was told this feature would be available in January of 2021. What is the expected date for family accounts so multiple email addresses don't need to be used for each child?

When working with siblings (minor children) Parents/guardian should be able to provide ONE email address to receive reminders and access the client portal. This is imperative for ease of use for parents.

I am in agreement with Nicole Kneale's comment below. I, too, see pediatric clients within the same family- on an individual basis. Often, there is ONE parent and ONE email address. Each child needs to have his or her own account (notes, billing, etc). Please, TheraNest, figure out how we can use the same email account for the client portal for individual clients within the same family. If Insurance companies have a way for parents to log in each family member into their client portal, certainly TN can without violating HIPAA policy.

I also work with families and think that this feature would be helpful. Also, in cases where there are two caregivers for one child client it would be helpful for both caregivers to be able to have access the the client's information such as to create an appointment or make payments.

I see pediatric patients and have a few instances where I will see multiple children in the same family. Each patient needs to be entered as a separate client since they are seen individually and need their own notes, billing, etc. Since parent's set up a portal when the first child began therapy, they can't get access to billing, paying invoices, etc for the second child. There needs to be a way to do this! I would have thought that the hundreds of votes and comments within the past three years would have allowed TheraNest time to figure this one out...
