Add ability to apply write-offs to invoices when processing ERA payments
In the same workflow of processing and applying an ERA payment, add the ability to write-off any remaining insurance balance due and have it reflected in the client's ledger.
A write-off can be applied for any remaining balance when processing an ERA payment. The “Actions” menu next to an ERA payment now includes a selection to “Process and write off balance”, which will apply the payment to the invoices and create a write-off equal to the remaining insurance balance due.

Please, please add this feature. We receive huge ERAs sometimes and it takes multiple days to manually do all the contractual insurance write-offs It would save us a ton of time and payroll dollars as well. I work with many other SAS EHR systems and they all have that built-in feature.

Please consider this action. We are looking at ways to save time in our office and we feel this would be very helpful. Thank you.

This would save us hours weekly and if done right help us identify insurance issues reliably. Allow excess fees to write off as insurance write offs, flag any claims where this process wouldn’t end up with a balanced claim. I’d pay extra for this. Please do it soon! Please!

Our practice is new to Theranest and likes the clinical side of things but the administrative side of Theranest is lacking the features that other practice management software has.
We are leaving EZ Claim, a billing software that has basically every billing/ERA feature that I see listed as suggested in this section.
This individual suggestion, in my opinion, is one of the more important ones since the write-off effort involved is a frequent, time-consuming event. How many votes does it take to get a significant productivity enhancement such as this out of the suggestion box and into development?

This is so needed. It would save me an hour a week now, and many more as I grow my practice!

It would also be helpful if when posting an insurance payment from the ERA feature that it would give the option to mark the invoice as fully paid. As of now it just assumes since the full balance billed was not paid by the insurance then it mustn't be paid in full. It is very time consuming to update each invoice status from submitted to paid.

Yes! Instead of automatic though, I would prefer the option to check off “write off insurance balance” in the ERA screen when you apply the payments, just so that nothing is written off without being approved.

Please add Insurance Write Off amounts into Client Details so that this routine transaction is automatized. So much time is taken manually adding write offs to the ledger.

There has to be a way to automatically pull the claims from the ERA and calculate copays, coinsurance, deductibles and write offs based on how the insurance processed them. As far as I can tell I need to manually go in and adjust all of the invoices after the fact which is crazy.

Automatically adjust 'Client Due' and 'Insurance Due,' write off excessive charges, and make other insurance adjustments to the invoice.

Most insurance companies pay a set amount per client or per session. I can't imagine that other theranest clients don't have the same need, and if not how they are compensating for this without going in client by client or session by session and taking care of it. We are only a 1 provider practice, I can't imagine what multi provider practices are doing.
