Include session start and end times on progress notes
Allow me to enter the start and end time of the session on a progress note because payers require this and it's easier to enter the times than adjust the duration.

The new update that links appointments on the calendar to progress notes also removes our ability to adjust the session time. If we use the "missing progress notes" feature then all of our notes are locked into 60 minute sessions. It would be nice to make the time in session adjustable so that we may accurately record our time with each client in the system.

I agree and would also like to see this added. I was at a conference for MHCA this past week and was told that the notes cannot just have start time and duration, but must have documented time out. I think a calculated time from the start time and duration would be the perfect way to comply.

I would really like to see this added as well. We have been informed by our local blue cross that it's required...apparently the start time and duration of session aren't enough. So, I'm trying to remember to type in the end type into my note but find without the prompt, I tend to forget!

The end time, as I understand it, is a requirement for insurance companies vs. just length of time in session. Even if there is a 'calculated' field that takes start time and adds the length of service. We all want to be in compliance with our notes and this is an important detail.

Insurance companies want the start time of sessions and the end time of each also. Would be helpful to have these clearly listed on each progress note.

Hello, I would like to request that a field be added to the notes pages that will allow the clinician to document the ending times of the sessions as required by all insurance companies. Thank you very much.

i just attended a webinar presented by therasoft which again stressed the importance of documenting start and end times along with session length. It seems that their templates calculate total session length when start and end times are input. I know it sounds silly, but it seems that these are required.

I would also suggest separating the appointment type and the actual CPT code. When the actual CPT code differs from what was entered for the appointment ahead of time it requires extra steps to correct it. The appointment itself must be changed and if the client paid ahead of time then the payment must be removed from the invoice, the invoice deleted and then the appointment changed. The appointment type can be less specific (intake appointment, therapy session, follow-up, consultation, assessment, etc.). The CPT should be entered with the note and then pulled into the billing system along with the diagnosis.

i keep hearing that specifically documenting start time and end time is required... i know it sounds silly... because obviously length of session should indicate an end time...

The start time is already displayed in Progress Notes based on your calendar entry, and the session duration in minutes is selectable on the note. Doesn't that already supply the needed session duration information?

Hello, I would like to request that a section be added to the notes pages that will prompt the clinician to document the beginning and ending times of the sessions as required by all insurance companies. Thank you very much.

Many times start and stop times need to be included for billing purposes. It would be great if this could be added as a feature in the progress note template

Need CPT code along with the time-in and time-out listed on each progress note. This is consistent with Medicaid billing requirements.

Need time in and out to reflect on the note to be in compliance with Georgia Medicaid requirements.
Also, for treatment plan, need to add Group Counseling and Case Management as modalities. Also recommend a specific treatment plan intervention field consistent with Wiley Treatment Planning that allows for a description of what the actual therapeutic intervention needs to be.
For Progress Notes: Need to have a Client Response. Focus and Treatment Intervention are redundant.

On the Progress Note: is it possible to have start and stop time fields so that we can keep track of the time it takes to actually prepare the note. And, an additional field that would calculate the time after the user enters the start/stop time.
