Family account for Client Portal
Allow an individual to access multiple accounts under one client portal. I work with families and the parent should be able to access statements and appointment information for all members of their household by logging into one client portal account.

With the client’s contact network, one parent or guardian can have access to additional accounts under one login. Check out our release notes for more information!

We often see siblings individually that may be in the custody of our county children's services department. It is more efficient to have the caseworker create an account in the client portal for intake paperwork completion especially. However, a caseworker can only create an account for one child using that caseworker's email/password, which poses a problem for completion of intake paperwork for another child in custody assigned to that specific caseworker.
We also run into this with families in which children are seen separately but parent would access the portal with one email.

I suggest allowing more than one client per portal account. This can be useful when providing services to siblings or parent and child.

Yes, I also am very much in favor of streamlining the portal process for families. Perhaps there could be some kind of function to "add family member" to an existing account to group the pertinent information (for billing purposes--particularly credit card issues-- as well as not having to have a unique email for each account)? This is tedious for the families who are receiving multiple services, and needing to update credit card information in 2, 3, and sometimes 4 places. Thank you for addressing this!

My comment would echo the same ideas that you've had listed already; 1 parent needing to manage 2 children's accounts, and divorced parents needing to give input on one child in the formal docs (right now, I just have them complete a separate form and upload it to their file).

I will echo the frustrations contained in the other comments. We have several sibling sets who come to our agency for counseling. We can't expect a parent to have 3-5 (depending on the number of kids) email addresses to create and maintain a client portal account for each child. Even if he or she did create multiple accounts, it would be a huge hassle for the parent to have to log in and out of every account to fill out paperwork, message the therapist, and/or schedule an appointment.
Also, please add the ability to have multiple people sign the intake documents. Electronic intake docs have very limited use for therapists who see minors if both parents are unable to sign the document and if the above issue is not addressed. -

We continue to see couple's and families that do not always have different email addresses. The inability to link or share emails in the system causes our system (aka Theranest) to look foolish and unadaptive. We end up having to apologize for how you designed your system which makes us look bad right at the start of the therapeutic relationship. We would like to request and ASAP change to this system.
Thanks,

I work with several families and children with divorced parents. I find it invaluable to have both parents input on their Childs struggles when working with complex trauma and attachment. It's also necessary to get both parents signatures for consent to treat their child as its unethical and illegal in some states to treat the child without both parents consent. It would be REALLY nice if we could find a way for parents to complete intake paperwork separately in this case. I hope it's something that gets worked on.

Can't believe the same comments go back to 9/2017 and you still haven't addressed the issue! One of the main reasons I decided to subscribe was due to the client portal - perhaps I need to rethink it.

Yes, please! We are a pediatric clinic that sees multiple children from the same household. However, it seems cumbersome for a parent to put in a different email address for each child - as opposed to having one log-in and being able to toggle between patients at our clinic. I hope this can become a reality in the near future to help serve our families!!

I can’t believe there’s not an effective workaround for this yet. I have four children plus a mom wanting therapy. However mom and dad only have one email address each.

We have the same problem. One parent login, but two children receiving therapy. We cannot send electronic intake paperwork for the sibling. There should be a way so one email address can be associated with multiple profiles.

Theranest seriously needs to add multiple email addresses to client details, especially if the client is a minor. There are grandparents raising their grandchildren. There are Foster Parents raising multiple children at one time. Then, there are the divorce cases, where a child is with one parent one week and the other another week. There are couples that come in for couples counseling and both would like to have reminders sent and be able to sign in to the portal. There may be various family members that should be able to have access to the children they are responsible for and have been put in their care by CPS. It just makes sense that all responsible parents/caretakers/clients should have access to this information. Adding multiple email addresses to an individual client file would most definitely be beneficial to us Theranest endusers.

I have the exact same situation as Laura: "We really need to be able to use the same email for multiple clients - I have a family of 6 children and each needs their own case, but the parent has only one email so intake forms are impossible to complete online! I'm not sure how to manage this and didn't see another request about this recently."
In providing therapy to parents and children individually and in various groups, I need to be able to have one log in for the whole family.

With laws requiring both parents to sign Disclosure Forms, the ability to send the intake forms to a second party is necessary. I would also request that the second party be able to have their own log-in to be able to schedule on their parent time.

I would very, very, very much benefit from and appreciate a system update that performed as Kim Cross is describing above. I completely understand the procedure and safety concerns with using a unique email login for each ct, however there ought to be some sort of way to make it work to where parents can manage their own and their child's profile as well under one login, one email. I hope this is something you can do sooner than later, or the ct portal is going to become a much less useful feature for me considering this is 90% of the situations I have with clients.

Create the sign in process in which the client is a child. Have a place where the Guardian Can sign treatment plan along with the client. Have place to enter parent name and parent signature .

It would be nice if we could send the portal invitation to the same email address for multiple clients. If we have siblings that come in, or a mom and then we start treating someone else in the family... the portal invitation to complete the paperwork has to go to a different email address for each client... i don't know that many people that have multiple addresses or don't want to use a work email for personal things....a big hassle for the clients and/or their families as well.

We can't effectively manage our companies using Theranest if our families with multiple children can't use the same email address. It is ridiculous that a parent would need to make several different email addresses in order to get services for their ENTIRE family!
