Family account for Client Portal
Allow an individual to access multiple accounts under one client portal. I work with families and the parent should be able to access statements and appointment information for all members of their household by logging into one client portal account.

With the client’s contact network, one parent or guardian can have access to additional accounts under one login. Check out our release notes for more information!

We have many families with multiple different children in treatment. It is not realistic for a parent to have 4 or 5 different email address log ins for each client portal. Having them grouped together in any way would be helpful. We also work with a great deal of foster children where a child welfare caseworker is the signing guardian. Sometimes caseworkers change or children are returned home so guardianship changes. Some more flexibility in log in for this feature or the ability to change it is desperately needed.

I have a family where I see 4 of the children AND the mother, and each person has to have an online portal account? This is not only hard to do (as the kids do not have email accounts), but also time consuming and frankly irresponsible. The parent has to sign for all documents, why can they not do this with a parental control under a family account?

I work with families and would like to see some combination for a family account so that parents can make payments, fill out forms, etc without having to have two unique email accounts and without having to log in for each person separately. Additionally, when there are two parents and two children- that requires FOUR unique email addresses and four client portal accounts. This becomes overwhelming for families OR they don't have the email capacity.

Totally agree that we need to be able to use the same email address for multiple family members. I work with kids only and very often see more than one kid from the same family. Some parents create alternate email addresses just so they can use the client portal for all kids.

Agreed! We would love the ability to use the same email address for multiple family members. We see many families where youth as well as parents are clients and often they do not all have their own email address nor is it appropriate to communicate with the youth exclusively about appointments and billing.

I see a mother and my intern sees her teen daughter, but we can not send her an invitation to the client portal. The mother does not have access to her notes or any information she doesn't already provide at intake. Intern needs to be able to email and communicate with the mother, not the teen. Appointment reminders also need to go to mother. This only one email per login seems to be a big issue that is reported over and over. Is there any resolution planned soon?

Another thought, which might be solved by the family account being an added feature: The electronic signature for documents is also set up for the client's name, but if we have a child client then the parent is signing so the printed name and signature don't match. Parents get confused by this which creates friction in the client experience.

The family account would be helpful- if I need to add multiple children to one account. Mostly I need it for email to portal purposes. Often the parents would only be getting the bill from my emails- no other info is shared. Thanks!

This is 100% needed for families with multiple children and/or with only one parent.

I work with 3 siblings and a parent. There should be one email account for the family instead of the parent having to create 4 separate email accounts.

I work with children. I would like each of the parents to have separate log-in (as some parents are divorced). This is essential when working with kids. Currently, only one parent can have a log-in associated with a child. Please fix ASAP.

Having a shared family account would be more efficient for both the family and the practice. Parents shouldnt have to create an email address for a minor child just to be able to schedule and sign documents for that child. Its way too hard for parents to keep up with multiple email addresses and passwords when the childrens accounts could simply be under the umbrella of the parents account. Theranest please fix this for us!

We see 4 children from the same family but can o only share access to the client portal for their mother with ONE client. The other three are not able to have forms shared etc. Can this be changed so family groups can share one email??

We need the ability to allow more than one portal per email address in instances where more than one minor in the family is served and the parent is the primary person on the account. I see two children in one home, but my family was only able to set up a portal for one child due to the email address restrictions. Our pediatrician has MyChart services - I, as the mother, am able to see both of my children's information and bills with one login. We should have that option here as well.

Allow clients to set up more than one client portal per email. For example a parent and a child who have separate accounts for insurance billing purposes but the parent pays the co-pays for both.

Is it possible to have a Mom as a primary or family email address as the primary, needing a code or password to get into linked children accounts?
Its concerning that a primary (mom or dad) can't schedule for multiple children in the family for different reasons. -

I agree that it would be nice if minors could share a login so parents can manage those accounts without needing two email addresses. To ask someone to make an email address just to be able to fill out paperwork is kind of silly. Likely, that would turn out to be an address they don’t monitor and so receipts and messages might get missed.
My family practice doctor has a system where I can see my info and each child’s info through the same login so I know it’s possible. When a child turns 18 they get their own account.

Agreed with Parents having the ability to use the same email for each child. In the system if they have a specific password that is different for each child then they can keep the accounts separate. Guardians have to sign and Bill for minors anyways, this would allow them to be able to schedule and keep track of payments associated with each child.

I frequently work with foster children sibling sets; this is my primary population. I create an individual profile for each child within TheraNest, but in almost every case, the siblings share one legal guardian-typically a caseworker with the state. There are a lot of releases of information and initial paperwork to complete, which can only be signed by the legal guardian shared by the multiple siblings. It is very frustrating to the caseworkers, and myself, that I cannot invite them, and they cannot complete paperwork, via the client portal, for more than one child. I truly hope that TheraNest will address this issue for those of us who work with minors and have to resort to emailing and scanning in documents when dealing with sibling sets. The client portal was one of the main items that drew me to TheraNest and I am extremely frustrated that this restriction prohibits me from using a service I pay for.

It would be helpful for parents of minors to be able to use one email account for all members of the family. I understand if the actual profile needs to be kept seperate amongst the children, but most families have just one family email to contain family pertinent material.
