Family account for Client Portal
Allow an individual to access multiple accounts under one client portal. I work with families and the parent should be able to access statements and appointment information for all members of their household by logging into one client portal account.

With the client’s contact network, one parent or guardian can have access to additional accounts under one login. Check out our release notes for more information!

I have families that have 2 or more children attending therapy. They have to have an email address for each child in order to set up in the client portal. This is inconvenient for parents. If they had a unique username for each child but could use the same email, it would be much less of a hassle.

When working with children you need to make things simple for the parents. Parents can't log into multiple accounts and remember emails, passwords for different children. You need to simplify things for parents who have their children in treatment.

Permit the portal to be sent to TWO emails so that both parents can consent to treatment in the case of joint custody.

Establish multiple client portal accounts for a famiy using one email address when seeing an adult and then the minor child is also served. There is currently no way to invite the parent to the portal to complete the intake paperwork if they have already completed their own paperwork via the portal

I agree with this suggestion. I also need a way to do intakes for clients that are from the same family and may share an email (ie minor children being managed by Mom)

I also work with children. Sometimes I see siblings for individual sessions and need the same caregivers to have access to each siblings' records. Currently however, each client must have a unique email address. It has been inefficient and inconvenient to the families I work with to have them utilize multiple email addresses for each of their children in therapy.

This site is not child and family friendly. I need to be able to send client portal invitations to one parent on multiple children. However, as I can only send to one discreet e-mail for each individual, I can't intake children properly. This system needs to allow for multiple members of the same family to be accessed through one e-mail account.

This would allow parental control and messages for clinicians. Easier management.

Please allow for one email address to be used for multiple family members. This is problematic when trying to send intake paperwork to multiple family members who desire to use one email address (i.e. a parent and minor are both clients and need paperwork completed for both, need to use one email address).

I have a child whose parent wants individual counseling services apart from their child. I cannot send this parent intake forms through the client portal because their personal email address is in use for the child. Simply setting up another email account and then another portal account is difficult to manage for many of the clients I work with. In such an instance as this, the parent's and child's privacy is not impacted because the parent is the one who manages the child's account. Clients and payers do not have access to notes, assessments, etc.

Agree, the same email under the family name should be allowed. Maybe the therapists "assign" all of the clients to one account. Parents should not have to use 3 different email addresses to access their 3 different children's account information. Thanks.

We also need to have some sort of feature where the same email can be used to log into multiple client accounts- I also have a group practice and bill for each member. I often see a parent and one of the therapists working for me sees one or more of the children- now with the client portal there either has to be a new email just for Theranest for each individual client, or else they can't log into the system to sign of on intake documents or update their billing information. This interferes with reminder texts as well.

Yes we need a to have a family account client portal feature as Kim and others describe here. One email address and multiple clients (Mom and 3 childred for example).
I suggest using the "Client Name" key in Theranest as the username. That would make the client portal work more like using the Theranest user interface. The "Client Name" is also used in a lot of the Theranest reports.
Thanks.

I see minors. It would be helpful if their accounts could be tied to their parents' accounts, including in the patient portal.

Yes to above. I received an error message that an email address for a parent of two children/clients is invalid because it is used for the other child. But it is the same parent, who needs to receive reminder emails for both children.

Yes for the family account! We are also branching out into adult services, and for this, parents will have a separate form. So, with some families, I see 2 or 3 children, and then if mom wanted services, she would need 4 separate emails. This would really streamline things for my practice, as many of our families have multiple children attending. Thank you for considering.

Yes to the above comments and it would be helpful for parents to have access to their children through one email address.
It would also be helpful if there were a set up for splits between parents. I often have divorcd parents who want a record of only their amount due based on their split rather than getting a bill for what the other parent owes. -

Hello, as a youth therapist it would be helpful to make the intake more minor friendly. On Simple Practice there is a button that designates the client as a minor and requires guardian information--the guardian's information is automatically used for contact, billing, reminders and so forth.
There is also an issue with the portal for parents with multiple minor's in my service. It requires two unique email addresses which an be a burden for parents, especially single parents.

A family account would be a great idea! I work with children and often times will see sibling sets. Being able to use the same email address for each family member would make the process much easier for the parents so that everything is attached to the same email, rather than having to create multiple new accounts. Often when a child is entering into therapy, the parent(s) are already stressed, so the easier we can make the process of getting the children signed up, the better!

family account would be helpful. Three kids from the same family come and mom schedules their appts online. She was the one who suggested this and she hasn't been the first. parent to suggest this.
