Turn off automatic "Kept" appointment status change
Allow me to turn off the feature that automatically changes an appointment to "Kept" when the appointment time is reached. We want our schedulers/providers to update the status manually.
A new setting under your organization's Profile will prevent appointments from automatically being changed to 'Kept' when the appointment time is reached.

We are requesting this feature because automatically marking appointments as 'kept' leads to potential insurance fraud if appointments that were missed are accidentally left as kept and then billed for reimbursement"

This idea was shared almost 6 years ago and has yet to be fixed. Please fix this!

This has created A LOT of issues in our daily operations/work flow. There is NO reason that the status should default to kept. Claims are getting billed that shouldn't and it's creating unnecessary work. Can you please update us. I'm starting to feel discouraged with the lack of movement on quite a few suggestions. I'm very close to changing EHRs because of these issues.

1. Appointments KEPT status should NOT be the default and only allow therapist to change status to KEPT. Keep the status as pending even if appointment date has passed until the therapist updates it to KEPT so we know for sure they were seen as therapists tend to forget to update.

I am part of a large group private practice that is using TheraNest, and this issue of the appointments automatically being marked "kept" rather than clinicians making the change manually has caused significant billing issues with no foreseeable way of preventing these ongoing. Our clinicians work in several different locations at different times and so are not able to easily communicate with one another in order to stay on top of the potential errors that may arise when an appointment is mistakenly left "kept" when it should have been marked a "no show" or "cancel". We've had claims sent to insurance that should never have been sent and it is an enormous headache to retract these and take months to process, which interferes with the accuracy of our payroll, confuses patients and appears extremely unprofessional to the communities we serve. This change needs to be a top priority please! I would imagine that TheraNest would want to prioritize this given that the errors that arise as a result are the types of errors that appear obvious on client's statements, which are sent to them with the TheraNest logo attached. This means each month our practice and TheraNest both are associated with unprofessionalism, and I imagine deter the many patients who use the system from continuing to use it. No one wins - please make the change.

This 1000%! I manage the schedule for a group. The status automatically changing from upcoming to kept is not correct because some clients are late. It also seems the providers in our group have to refresh their page to see when I change the appointment status. This should automatically update when I change it. For instance, we used Google calendar & if I updated an appointment, the change was instant, there was no refreshing the page to see the update on the provider side.

Currently the default status in the agenda is "Kept." If the clinicians in my practice do not status there clients who canceled, then the administrative assistant is to assume the clients showed for their session. Could you change the default so that an option has to be chosen rather than have "kept" populate? This would eliminate: errors in billing, having to delete invoices, and having to chase information from the clinicians.

If there a way to keep the Status from changing to kept with the time? Make it to where we have to change the status from upcoming to kept, no show, cancelled, or late cancelled?

Still REALLY disappointed that the multiple requests about NOT having the computer automatically change client status to "KEPT" when the hour passes have not been listened too. This feature creates FALSE records that a client attended when they did not and confuses our providers when they see on the computer a client is here but then when they walk out to the waiting room they find the client is NOT here. PLEASE FIX THIS. Our reception should check the person in, not the computer doing this automatically.

Please fix this issue! We joined Theranest in September. Very disappointed to see this issue was brought up several years ago and nothing has been done about it. Seems pretty basic and elementary.

100% agree. Our office would run much more efficiently if therapists are notified when cts have checked in, and not be sent on a goose chase looking for cts who aren't here!

Agreed. Would really like to see this problem get resolved, allowing the front desk to change it manually would be ideal. The status of our clients, and whether or not they made to the appointment, is important for personal record keeping and billing.

Its created some major confusion in our office. Theranest and the Front office are telling the Therapists two different things. As well as our Billing department

let reception manually check in people when they are in the office. Theranest wrong too often.
