Allow for client nickname or preferred name
Many of my clients do not go by their birth names due to gender transition or they prefer one that was a family given nickname. Billing still needs to go under legal name, but quickly finding them here would be easier if I could have nickname/chosen name field to search by.

place a nickname or "name you want to be called" on the first screen

Since some people don't go by their legal name, but the system needs their legal name for billing, there should be a "goes by" section so that the client is called their preferred name.

FYI, there's another request for this so these votes are split between two entries. Theranest team, please understand that there are really twice as many votes as it looks like there are.
I added my vote to the newer request here: https://theranest.uservoice.com/forums/201030-feedback/suggestions/13488267-preferred-name-nickname-field

I completely agree and as open and supportive therapists we must honor the name our clients have chosen in the interim of their transition.

We have LOTS of clients whose legal name isn't what they go by. We need the legal name in the current "name" fields for insurance purposes, but we absolutely can't call them by those names. We really need another field for this!

We desperately need an open field for preferred name and used pronouns. Like yesterday.

Yes! Preferred name, pronouns, and in-house gender ID (even if assigned gender still has to go on the insurance claim).

Many of our clients are transgender/in transition/non-binary and I would love to have a field on their details page to record their preferred pronoun.

Also, could we have a field in client details to make note of a client's preferred pronoun. I've been using the middle name box and only recently realized that field was included in appointment reminders. awkward.

I have to put full name for sake of insurance billing but would like to have a space for the client's preferred name so I can remember if discharged and come back in future
