Improve usability and customization of Client Statements
The statement needs a total makeover. Some suggestions:
- Make balance due clearer to clients. Having 4 different totals at the bottom is confusing. Only need an outstanding patient responsibility total and an insurance total. The combination totals are not necessary.
- Filter statements by service date, not invoice date
- Include return address on client statement print outs
- Adding NPI and TaxID on client statements
- Add custom note field to statements

I wish the amount we wrote off (due to insurance contract or personal choice) was indicated on the client statement and invoice. It makes the clients so confused when I tell them I have written something but then it is not indicated on their bill. It results in confusion and needless phone calls and emails. Thank you for considering this update!

It would be nice if we could have a field on the invoice where we can enter a note (ie. late payments will result in an interest charge)
or have a "tear off" portion that people can include with their payment and they can write in their credit card info.

I USE THE STATEMENTS FOR BILLING AND WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO ADD A NOTE ON THEM FOR ALL STATEMENTS.

Yes, agreed. Glad to see this is started.

Yes, I would like to add a statement that instructs how the check should be made out.

There should be some kind of standard confidentiality statement included, like the ones most therapists have at the bottom of any email that comes from them directly.

It would be really helpful to have an open field to indicate a payment due date or instructions on the invoice.

Good afternoon! I am wondering if there is a way to include a message on bills sent to clients? Also Is there a way to track and send on one bill if statement is older than 30 60 90 days to be able to incur late fees or to let client know account will be forwarded to a collection process?

When sending a statement to the client it would be helpful to be able to place a payment due date in it so they know when they should make payment by. Even a computer-generated due date would be fine.

Sometimes I would like to add a note to the emails sent that include super bills or receipts, particularly if I'm resending or there was a something that needs to be clarified. This functionality would be helpful!

I'm really hoping that as you all review this feature that you see the benefit and add this feature. It will be a huge benefit!

Yes yes yes! I have seem a couple of other people suggest the same thing. Please consider this! The invoice as it is, isn't really helpful unless it is a private pay client.

Responding to Anonymous comment (June 07, 2016):
Actually the request being made here is not the equivalent of what the Superbill already provides. What is being requested is an optional field at the bottom of the Invoice that the clinician can fill in with whatever message he/she wants, such as practice policy, a due date, a communication about a late payment, and anything else of a customizable nature that a clinician might want to add to the standard Invoice (and, I might add, to the Superbill). It would be ideal to be able to designate the optional field as universal (for all billed clients) or as individual (for a specific client only).

Isn't this essentially the same as a superbill? If users have been using only invoices and not superbills they may not realize many/all of these features are already available.

There should be an option to show a customer the details of their bill in the invoice forms. For example, what amount was adjusted due to exceeding the contracted rate, what amount was paid by insurance, what amount is the co-payment, what amount is applied to client deductible, etc. Just having the total due is not as helpful and will result in unnecessary client calls with questions.

We have discovered that we can't send the statements to our clients, We have to send each individual invoice so it is less confusing, but it is not efficient on our end. The detailed client statement suggested above would make everything we do easier, and much clearer for our clients.

It would be great also to have an option in this box to put boxes for the clients to put a credit card info so that they can send it back to us to pay with a credit card.

We spend a lot of time explaining statements to our customers or writing emails to go along with them. They are confusing. I would like to see the amounts broken up into invoice amount/charge, adjustment, insurance responsibility, and client responsibility for each item. It should also show the payments associated with specific invoices. At the bottom of the statement it should total the client responsibility. It would also be nice to also be able to include payment instructions with a remittance voucher.

We get many complaints about the lack of depth in terms of client invoices. It would be nice if they were more descriptive to state how the claim processed.
