Add client check in functionality
Add a way for client services, office manager, or secretary to mark that client has arrived and checked-in for their appointment to reduce the need for frequent checking of the lobby or interruptions to sessions. Send an alert to the staff member when the client has checked in.

Can we please get a way to mark clients as checked in with time stamps. This would be nice to have for court cases when we need to show when a client arrived for their appointments as well as notifying the therapist that their client is here and ready.

Hello,
Front administration needs a way to check in clients and a notification banner pop up to inform the therapist.
The whole tree of life behavioral health practice wants this feature.
Thank you

Could a box be created that we can click once the client has been checked in that would notify the clinician that their client is ready and it would change the status of the account to checked in?

Having an alert for when an appointment is Kept can help alert a counselor when his/her client arrives rather than having to constantly refresh the agenda page.

Adding a check in appointment feature with a risk assessment would be helpful to notify clinicians of any immediate changes. Many doctor's offices now have mobile check-ins with a variety of questions that alert the clinic of health status changes.

A way for an admin at our practice to notify clinicians that a patient has arrived and is waiting in the waiting room. A color coded change on theranest or just a pop-up screen letting us know would be great. Thank you!

Function to show clients have checked in, been seen and left to negate the need to check notes or ask clinicians. Also acts as a second check that a bill has been raised. This should be a normal function of any Practice appointment schedule.

Can you make a notification tool for when a patient is checked-in and in the waiting room? I have a growing practice and when my admin checks in a patient, it would be great if they could click a button on Theranest that somehow either notified the clinician or changed the patient's status on the calendar so that it shows they are here and in the waiting room?

Even just a button to update the appointment status to "checked in" would make a big difference. Our clinicians and front desk staff are in different areas, and while calling or having clinicians monitor the lobby works it's not time efficient, particularly when we've got multiple check ins and phone calls going on all at once. Making it a quick click or two for the front desk to issue the notification would really smooth things.

Many practices are small and find it difficult to pay a front desk person. We experienced this and have found, through our research, that many of these Front Desk sign in apps are designed for large companies and their monthly subscription matches the level of a large company…..they are really expensive.
We are small and do not need all those bells and whistles. We do not need stickers to be printed or pictures of the clients to be taken when they sign in. HIPPA violation anyone?!?!
All we need is a simple sign in app that when the client clicks on the providers name or image, it sends an automated email to said provider. That’s it. “Someone is here to see you”. Notifies provider, HIPPA is not violated, easy peasy.
This could easily be an add on subscription like the Wiley Practice Planners or Telehealth. I do not write code, but my imagination thinks it may be possible to also connect it to the Client portal as an extra sign in option.
Now Theranest can market that they take care of the client and the provider from the moment the client walks through the door all the way through until the invoices have been paid….not great verbiage, but you get the idea.
Please see the PowerPoint attachment for a rough draft visualization of what I'm thinking.

Possibly even add a way for clients to check themselves in via a kiosk and their own portal access.
Right now, Procentive is the only EHR I know that offers check-ins - and procentive was a nightmare to use. TheraNest could corner the market with client checkins.

This would make it so much easier and take the guesswork out of organization--streamlines and makes the billing cycle easier, too, if you add the option to co-pay right then and there (especially if a card is saved).

I agree this would be a very helpful function and it surprises me that it is not already an option. I find Theranest to be great for my note taking and client organization needs, this would be a cherry on top.

I recently went to my MD, and when I came in, I typed on an iPad my name and date of birth, and selected the purpose for my visit (a few simple drop down options) and I was automatically signed in. It also provided an option for me to choose my copay and pay it right then and there (there was a swipe machine attached).
This is EXACTLY what I'd like to see, so that I can know exactly what clients showed up for different therapists, AUTOMATICALLY, and hassle free. -

Would like to see a check in process and notification. When a client arrives to be able to indicate patient arrival so therapists can be notified. In the process it displays in some place current amount the client owes not including insurance, and lists current insurance company, and current phone number to double check to see if anything needs to be changed. We have 17 therapists to check in at the front desk, and these features would be very helpful making things more efficient.

Definitely a need. Along those line would be the need to disable the "status" from auto changing to "KEPT". Sometimes they don't show up and we need to see who hasn't arrived, but using status means they are automatically 'checking in' regardless if they are there or not.
