Turn off automatic "Kept" appointment status change
Allow me to turn off the feature that automatically changes an appointment to "Kept" when the appointment time is reached. We want our schedulers/providers to update the status manually.
A new setting under your organization's Profile will prevent appointments from automatically being changed to 'Kept' when the appointment time is reached.

Keep status as pending or upcoming until it is manually changed to what actually occured. It is deceiving to staff to see "kept" on the computer when the patient actually has not shown up yet.

Its created some major confusion in our office. Theranest and the Front office are telling the Therapists two different things. As well as our Billing department.

This would allow support staff to communicate with therapist that the client is present. Client would be manually moved from Upcoming to Kept when they arrive and the therapist could check the dashboard to know when the client has arrived. This would increase efficiency for the therapist by not having to check to see if the client is in the waiting room.

Since we have a larger clinic and use the status to indicate to staff when clients have checked in, it would be nice if we could turn off the default "kept" when the appointment time has arrived. I can see how this would be helpful to others so maybe if we could just turn the feature off?

Since I work at home as a biller, I didn't know it worked this way. I agree, sometimes the counselor doesn't get a chance to change this for a time and I would think the client kept the appointment. But I always check to make sure there are notes before billing a claim and I would notice that there were no notes and question the counselor why the notes are not entered. KS
