Track client's insurance history
Have a way to keep track of old insurances. When a client switches insurance, you just have to delete their old one. There's no way to keep track of what insurance they had and when, if they switch. If we were allowed to archive insurance plans instead of completely deleting them, we'd still see a history of the insurance plans assigned to the client. Additionally, the old/expired insurance should be used for claims arising from invoices for services rendered before it's expiration.

We’ve released an update that enables you to record and view a client’s insurance history. Now, you no longer have to delete insurance information from a client’s Bill To & Insurance Info tab once coverage is no longer active. Instead you can easily mark old coverage as Inactive, enter a coverage end date and add the new active insurance information.
With this update, some billing functionality and layouts have changed. Please watch this short video to see all of the updates here: https://theranest.wistia.com/medias/dua9pzuzxl.

commentedIt would be very helpful if there was an option to ARCHIEVE an Insurer in the Billing Tab. It is common for a provider to leave a network and if you delete the insurer from the list it also deletes payment information in the client files.

commentedOften when you have two insurance plans or have one and then a client gets a second level of coverage you have to delete the existing information in the primary fields and move it to secondary insurance fields. It would be so much easier if we could just set a flag to the plan that is the current primary, secondary or tiertiary

commentedNot only keep the historical for prior plans but allow the insertion of new plan or a primary plan without deleting the information on the billing & insurance screen

commentedI'd love it if there was a way to store insurance information for multiple policies for one client - currently when a client changes insurance policy there is no easy way to store the old policy information besides in the notes section (that I have been able to find). It would be really nice to be able to have "active" and "inactive" insurance profiles for one client, it would make the transition from one policy to another more smooth. Thanks!

commentedWe need to incorporpate a "previous insurnace" section for clients when / if claim billing issues come up. This way we do not have to research old files

commentedIt's so common for a client to change insurance carriers, and we're still needing to bill both the prior for old dates of service, and new one for current. But the system only stores one. It's creating inaccurate information as well.

Jennifer Larson commented We verify all of our clients benefit information PRIOR to their first appointment. Example: $500 Individual Deductible and $25 co-pay. It would be incredibly helpful if we can easily store this information under Bill Insurance so we can easily refer to these details. Also, for folks who have co-insurance %, say 15%, it would be helpful if we can list both amounts for Intake, individual sessions, and couples/family sessions as in this case there are 3 different co-insurance amounts that are collected. Then depending on the type of session for that date of service, therapist can select (maybe from a dropdown menu) the applicable co-pay amount. This would be so much easier that having to constantly change the co-pays amounts per session/date of service. Thank you for truly considering these needs and making some updates. Best,
 Jennifer

commentedIt would be very helpful for TheraNest to allow a user to enter the effective date ranges of a service authorization so that claims can be submitted with the correct service authorization number. For e.g., service authorization #1234 effective dates 01/01/2018 to 07/30/2018
service authorization #5678 effective dates 08/01/2018 to 12/31/2018Thank you for your time!

commentedWhen a client has switched insurance companies but you do not have all the claims paid for the last insurance. If they claim is denied and I need to resend the claim I will need the old insurance information.

commentedWe need to be able to terminate an insurance in this system. Not just delete the insurance when the patient has a new one. We need to be able to see easily the history of what insurance the patient had and when. You guys need to be able to add a term date to the insurance (so that it's archived) and then let us add the new insurance.

commentedI am finding the need for our organization to be able to have different insurance info saved and to be able to select from the ones I have entered.
Ex. I have three insurance companies entered and saved, the client has a dos on January 1st and I will need to bill companies 1 and 3 but the same client was seen on Dec. 31 and I would need to bill 1 and 2.
