Enter clients as a couple or family
Allow me to enter clients as couples or families. I see mostly couples and I prefer not to split them up in TheraNest.

For those of use that see an entire family and need to register each on Theranest individually (since the portal only takes one different email per person), we need to be able to register an entire family together. We only only see people as the family unit or couple unit. We may see them as individual on occasion, but the majority of work with with ac group. so we are charged for an entire family of individuals, but paid for one session of all of them together. Sometimes I have 3-4 people in one family, but that counts as 3-4 clients. I have one client, the family. So therefore I'm paying 3-4x's what people who only see individual pays per hour I work.

I agree. Splitting it up also unnecessarily adds to our active client numbers as it seems that schedule as a "group" creates invoicing issues when there is only one person being billed/charged.

We really need the ability to have couples in our client info, within the forms, and the ability to text/email both of them a reminder.
Please also understand that there are theraputic reasons for this as well - seeing ocuples can be delicate & it would be so much easier if the administrative piece could be buttoned up.

Family groups and couples are managed by therapists differently than psychotherapy groups. It would be great to have the option of creating a group for psychotherapy, a group for families or couples and still maintain individual files.

Hi,
I see couples and would like to be able to add a progress note from the agenda or calendar rather than a group note. I love the fact that I can copy the note to both clients, but it would be nice to have the option to write a progress note for each member from the appointment. Right now, I go into the client's file and add a new note, select the appointment date and time, and then add to the other client.

Add a second list for mental status for spouse or partner for conjoint sessions and ability to identify list to specific client. Also add ability to scroll through list of characteristics under each category rather than having to type it in, but also maintain ability to add to list.

Rachel Alerte: It has been a long time since your comment, but I am hoping someone can guide me. You mentioned, "Modify the group option so when you indicate it is a family, you only have to write one case note, one assessment, and one treatment plan." I am new to theranest, and our clinic is a couple/family therapy training clinic, so any advice on how to navigate and best practice is helpful. Could you walk me through what you mean?

How are we to collect/store information for couples? Individually doesn't make sense if they are using the same insurance as a couple.

This also applies to Therapist who see children and need to remind both parents. Please reconsider to add this as a feature.

We need a template for couples needs in scheduling, demographics, billing. The ability to enter them in as individuals and as a couples but not count as 3 clients instead of 1. Ability to send appointment reminders to both of the individuals in the couple.Any other suggestions?

Just spoke to a rep and he said this isn't going to happen anytime soon as they have prioritized other features ahead of this one. Bit of a bummer.

Wholeheartedly agree! Not only is it cumbersome the way it is (multiple notes, billing one member and adding zero to the rest to avoid warnings, etc.) but it disadvantages those who see families and couples because I have to keep upping my subscription.

We see a number of couples at our clinic & this has been a continuing problem for us. We have been using Theranest for the past year & have made a similar suggestion a number of times, with no change. I'm not sure why someone would design a system that didn't allow for this feature in the first place. Please correct this oversight.

If you see a couple or family there is no place in the patient note to enter the name of the parties present and this is an important feature.

When you are seeing a family as a unit, modify group feature so you can create the family group without adding clients (or having to create new clients if they’re in the same family).

Modify the group option so when you indicate it is a family, you only have to write one case note, one assessment, and one treatment plan.
