Enter clients as a couple or family
Allow me to enter clients as couples or families. I see mostly couples and I prefer not to split them up in TheraNest.

This will allow us to enter in the treatment plan for the couple instead of each individual, because we have clients that come for couples and individual sessions.

And, please allow families to be entered as a single client.

Yes! Agreed! All the issues with the billing and inability to see on the mobile app, and additional work manually deleting invoices so that only one person is billed as a couple is insanely inconvenient, but it also adds to my overall costs because seeing a couple ( 2 clients) or a family ( 3 or more clients) means that I have that many client accounts I have to add to my monthly subscription for Theranest.

This has been my biggest complaint with Theranest for over a year now! And "group" appointments show up all funny everywhere- including not being visible on the mobile app at all. A "couple" or "family" client should be treated the same as an individual in the sense that notes should be similar in format and the information should be accessible from the same screens and show up on the same calendars. It is extremely cumbersome for any therapist (like myself) whose caseload has a large amount of couples and families.

90% of my clients are parent and child/ren and one of the reasons I picked this program over others was it said the program could set up family groups. I thought this meant just as other client portals and programs do it would populate address, insurance and other information for a family instead of me having to enter this same information for each member. Also in the client portal, a child/ren's acct could be connected the the parent's client portal acct so the parent could pay on each members acct, make appts get mail, etc. without having to get multiple email addresses and go into multiple accts to get information on each child. Several of the portals I use for my prescriptions and medical providers have this feature so I know it can be done. If it takes TheraNest 3 years to respond to a request then likely this feature will never be added and I need to start looking for another program.

Same with a family -- the couple or family is my client, not the individuals -- it's a hassle logistically in the system, but also being charged more for seeing a couple, even though that's only one client for me, since I have to enter them as two separate clients, then connect them as a "group."

Agreed, this will be very helpful for working with kids and giving both parents access to the same client. Currently, I have to create two clients for each child. Hoping this comes sooner rather than later.

This is definitely needed, but the "Planned" date states Nov 20, 2014--that's 3 yrs ago! Does anyone know when TheraNest plans to do this or if it is in process at all? Thanks!

for couples we need to be able to have two clients within one case?

It would be helpful if you can add a couple as a client and in couples mode to be able to complete progress notes and assessments in a different way since it is per couple, maybe have a section to enter each persons mental status and a different assessment

Yes, entering as a couple is important. The couple is the client, but if I have to split them up as active clients, that means my active client count increases resulting in having to pay more for a bigger subscription, which is a downside for me since I work with a lot of couples. I'm glad to so this is planned!

Please, please add this to the overall program. We have been using Theranest since March of this year & it has been billed as "planned" since at least then.

Just wrote to Theranest about this and glad to see that it's planned! Would save a lot of time to be able to invoice and bill one couples session as opposed to creating groups - then billing or invoicing individually. Way to be on it Theranest.

It seems that there is no clear way to insert clients who are couples and not married.

Totally agree. A single note is required for a session in couples and the group note doesn't give enough options. I know that you can copy to all group members and it's in a case that's designated as a family so it's probably OK but it's a little weird to mention the partner on an individual note of the other partner. In formulating a new couple or family progress note. It could essentially be the same as it currently is but have a checklist of those attending (sometimes not all family members attend all sessions) and each would need their own mental status exam. The rest could stay the same. Agree with the joint billing of families/couples as well. Treatment plans as a couple would help to (although that would require having multiple members sign and yet kids don't need to sign so it couldn't just be all members)

1 Note for all in session even though clients booked separately for marital and family sessions.

Although we can enter a couple as a group, I'm sure that a form designed for couples could be more elegant and more useful.
