Make progress note Creation Date optional
HI there!
I love using Theranest to input my client notes but the new "creation date" feature is not my favorite. I often write notes by hand and enter them in later when I have time. This feature makes progress notes inflexible and could potentially hurt us during an audit. Regardless of whether or not the work has been done.
Theranest helps simplify our practice, however, this new feature only makes it more rigid and seems to be put in place to get others into trouble. Can this creation date field be made optional?

I'd love the option of adding the creation date instead of it auto populating. Or at least allowing an administrator to be able to edit or give the option to auto populate the creation date.

I agree with what others have said that this is great if you are a big organization holding other clinicians and interns accountable. However, I am a solo practitioner and write my notes by hand and complete in Theranest at a later time myself and find this change to add needless stress to my days. Please make this optional by the administrator.

I agree with many of what other people have posted, it could hurt us more than help us. PLEASE get rid of this, or at the very least make it optional. VERY VERY disappointed.

I think it should be optional as well, it should be made as mandatory for organizations that are using it with clinical supervisors and interns (it should be the head of the organization's choice). But for individual practitioners, we should have the option to turn it off. I will no longer be using Theranest for my notes.

I agree! I do not like the "creation date" feature either. I too hand write my notes to enter them at a later date. I feel the "creation date" could potentially cause problems not only for audit purposes but if notes are subpoenaed, now it puts out work into question. It seems making this feature optional would alleviate this concern.

I appreciate your feedback. Typically, I don't disagree, however, I must here. As a clinical supervisor and practice director, this feature holds staff accountable. You are exactly correct in stating this could hurt us in an audit. We need our notes done in a timely manner and if they are not being created when they should, then that is a staffing issue.
