Add more control of editing and sending calendar/scheduling alert emails sent to clients and groups
I have a very tightly booked schedule and sometimes make mistakes and have to fix something, particularly while making future appointments. I feel this should happen behind the scene until things are right. However, people who are subscribed the portal get notification of everything I do immediately, even it's an error. It's annoying to all of us. I think there should be a way to stop this feature. Currently, if I make an error, I have to delete their text and email address, then make the changes, then put the email and phone number back in. It makes me want to dump the portal altogether. Please add a way for me to have better control of this feature.

We’re excited to let you know this suggestion has been implemented! Today we released an update that allows more control over what scheduling notifications are sent to clients. You can learn how to update these settings in our Knowledge Base: https://help.theranest.com/en/articles/4595489-manage-client-portal-appointment-notifications

These emails have been confusing clients and caused a few issues, especially when I've had to make edits on my end. I'd love more management options, either to turn them off completely, or let us opt in clients who want it, or customize when the automatic emails are sent/what actions trigger them.

I have worked with other management systems that give a 10 minute delay between what we enter, change, etc. and what is sent out as a notification.

I'd like to be able to select "DO NOT send email reminder" from the calendar/appointment listing when I'm changing an appointment. Clients who want email reminders don't necessarily want a reminder for every single thing related to their appointment in the calendar.
Right now, if I make a mistake while scheduling or adjust appointments in any way, my client will get a reminder for each action. I've had clients no show because they were confused about a cancelled session email that was for a future appointment or a duplicate appointment.

Yes! Please allow us to turn off these scheduling notifications! Some of my clients hate them too. It's really embarrassing as well when I make a mistake and make an appointment in error and then have to delete. They get notices for all of this. There should be an option to allow only a reminder of an upcoming appointment, not send an email for every single calendar change. Thank you.

I would love to be able to select "do not send confirmation/reminder email" directly from the calendar or appointment list when I am cancelling a client's appointment. Agreed when I've made a scheduling error the client gets confused when they receive multiple emails confirming, cancelling, and reconfirming the same appointment.
Also, when cancelling future recurring appointments (like when I plan a vacation and cancel appointments in advance for the client), the client has gotten confused and thought their current appointment was cancelled and didn't show.

when i need to edit an appointment & don't want you to confuse the client with your notifications (i.e. if I edit code or place them in a group appointment)

Please stop sending emails to clients when I simply add or remove an appointment to my calendar. I would prefer that you limit emails to appointments that have been canceled. This would limit the confusion that people get when we accidentally put an appointment on the wrong time slot and have to remove it. Thank you.

The ability to cancel an appointment and not send the automatic email to the client. Useful when cleaning up your calendar or if you accidentally booked the wrong time.

My clients hate the email notifications every time I cancel, re-schedule or schedule an appointment. I would like the ability to turn them off completely, rather than client by client. Particularly the re-schedule or the cancellation as generally we have already discussed it and I'm going in and just adjusting the calendar. They don't want the extra notification.

It would be nice to be able to edit notification settings. For example, I don't like getting an email every time a not gets signed, for this clogs up my email inbox. So it would be nice to be able to edit what kind of notifications I get and for what.

All of our clients are calling and complaining about all the emails they are getting, anytime we add something or delete something to an account, they get emailed, these emails are causing our Mental Health clients unnecessary stress. How can these emails be stopped? They only need to be emailed for appointment reminders, not every time a note or something else is added.

I like the alerts on my dashboard that there are notes to sign, but with 4 clinicians that I supervise my email is bombarded with alerts that I have notes to sign. I would like to be able to choose to turn that email alert off.
