Allow non-admin staff members to invite clients to client portal
Grant ability to invite client to client portal to non-admin users. Clients can only be invited from the client portal settings page, which is located under the Organization tab. As a result, only admins can invite new clients to the portal.
We’re excited to let you know this suggestion has been implemented! Today we released an update that expands staff permissions so that non-admin staff members can send client portal invitations to their clients. Staff members with adequate permissions will have the ability to send invitations from the Client Details page. Organization administrators can control which staff members have the ability to send invitations by editing their staff members’ permissions. To learn more about this release, you can visit our TheraNest Knowledge Base. https://help.theranest.com/en/articles/4540115-allow-staff-to-invite-clients-to-the-client-portal

Therapist should be have access to client portal. That should not be under organization permissions.

I just learned that our individual therapists, all of whom cannot be granted administrative/ organizational privileges, cannot invite clients to the portal or select which documents are sent to them. It may not be sustainable for our practice to continue if this feature isn't added in the very near future. With many therapists on staff, it is totally impractical for them to be unable to invite their own new clients to the portal and send them the appropriate documents. This feature is imperative for any practice

This feature is a must!! I need my therapist to invite clients without needing to hire someone else or for myself to spend the time that I do not have to invite clients for them. I do not understand why this wasn't the way it was set up in the first place. Can you imagine an office with 10 therapists all getting 3 new clients a week? That is 30 invites needinng to be made. It is a waste of time for anyone to have to do that when the therapist can easily do it for themselves.

The therapist permission list does not include client portal access. In order for Therapists to have client portal access, I must give them administrative permissions - which has various other settings I do may want them to have.
It may be a good idea to be able to customize more options when giving access. -

Under staff permissions, allow the administrative to send client portal invites. I have administrative staff I would like to send out client portal invites but I don't want them to have the organization admin permissions.

As our clinical practices continue to move to more web-based models TheraNest is an extremely helpful tool. It is disappointing, however, to have to either an administrator doing all the invitations or give admin status across the board. The client portal needs to be removed from "organizational" to a basic feature that all subscribed clinicians are able to fully access. Even changing to so non-admin counselors could send further documentation after the initial invite would be helpful!!

Very Disappointing. I imagined my group private practice growing under the Theranest platform but this glitch in the development gives me pause. I feel limited in my ability to continually add staff since I have to personally invite all their patients to the practice while running the business. Please fix this immediately!

I have a growing practice and I can't understand how this is time efficient for admin when the therapist should have the ability to invite their own clients to the portal. I am now researching other systems as a result because can't keep growing and have this problem. Would like to know if this evening being considered for a change

This issue is causing me to consider leaving Theranest. Especially as I see it has been shared for years now.

Make it so that the receptionist doesn't have to have administrative permissions manage the client portal , that the admin can provide permission for someone to control appointment requests, schedules, etc. and not leave it in the control of the therapists.

Please allow the ability to have an administrative person to use the client portal WITHOUT any abilities to view clinical records.

I am in the process of opening 2 more locations, totaling 4 with over 500 clients. I can not be the one to invite all clients to the client portal as I am busy working on the leadership part of the business. I do not feel comfortable giving the person who is answering the phone, assigning referrals, and inviting clients to the portal, full access to my billing information. This is a vulnerabilty and confidentiality issue that I simply can not have the bigger my practice gets. If this is not changed soon, I will be forced to switch to a different platform. Thanks for the consideration.

Telehealth practices are in place and all clinicians need access to inviting patients. It slows business to have the business owner do this in particular bc although I see patients, I have a myriad of other roles and tasks and cannot invite my clinician's patients to the portal with each new telehealth patient. Please update

TheraNest, why is this a hold up? You have 50+ comments and 133 votes in over 2 years. It's ridiculous to think that the same person who needs total account control is the one scheduling appointments and inviting clients to the portal. Furthermore, in advertising that you're multiple clinician practice friendly, you're missing a key concept.

Grant ability to invite client to client portal to non-admin users. My site's clinicians have their own forms and policies; thus, in order to access the portal feature pretty much all of us need to be admin, which is not ideal. Thank you for considering!

Dear Theranest, This suggestion thread was first posted in 2015. This is unacceptable that it has not been done. This should be the first thing that gets changed! It does not make any sense at all for the admin to have to invite every client to the portal.

Would it be possible for TN to add a level of permissions and new functionality so that users (and not just administrators), could send invitations to clients to join portal and complete intake paperwork?
As a user, having to wait on another person to complete my intake process is not workable, especially when the Administrator’s availability to perform this task is limited. I on-board new clients 7 days/week.
Thanks.

Agree with others, this is a primary necessity that is a huge limitation of TheraNest. If we choose to allow therapists full admin access so they can invite clients to the portal, it then disallows the function for progress notes to require supervisor review and signature. Why are these two features linked together??? A separate permission to allow a staff member to access the client portal, regardless of the other permission settings is imperative. Please change this asap!
