We are having issues with clients not being marked "kept" either due to office staff not being available to check people in manually - or clients being telehealth and therapists forgetting. When this happens and the therapist goes ahead and starts the note, they are unable to sign it AND we are unable to change the status of the appt.
I realize there is a feature to mark everyone kept at the end of the day - however we feel that will result in more mistakes as people that may not have gotten marked cancelled may get marked "kept" accidentally.
It makes the most sense to us that if a therapist starts a progress note - it automatically defaults the appointment status to kept at that point. If they're writing a note, then clearly the appointment was kept. However, if someone doesn't show up and then it fails to get marked "cancelled" or "no show" then the system automatically makes an invoice for it. This leaves the door open for possible accidental fraudulent billing.
Would there be a way to create a feature to switch appts to kept when the note is opened if it isn't already marked?
