Convenience Fee for Processing Credit Cards
Instead of Charging the Credit Card Fee to me as the Provider. I'd like an option for the Client to cover the processing fees. Many businesses have the client cover the cost of processing the card.
Surcharges on debit card charges are illegal in every state in the United States. Additionally, some states also ban surcharges on credit cards. Because there is no way in our credit card processing system to know if a credit card or debit card is tied to a transaction we do not recommend passing along processing fees to client invoices.

Would like to echo the need for a credit card fee when credit cards are processed, not just the ability to create a service type. People change how they pay from month to month and I can't possibly know how they will pay when i invoice (much less have time to calculate a 3% credit card fee for each person). There should be a button to charge either a flat fee or a percentage of the total invoice when credit cards are run. If that were possible, I would almost exclusively bill credit cards. This is my biggest complaint with Theranest at this time.

I would like to give clients the option of paying cash or pay a fee for the use of cc. I cannot do that with how this is set up.

it would be so helpful if there was an easy way to add a small surcharge for clients to pay the credit card processing fee.

A recent ruling in 2013 allows for all merchants to charge a surcharge for the amount they pay to accept the card up to 4%. There are a handful of states that banned that. However, it isn't illegal to add the surcharge in most states.

Be careful- it is illegal to charge this fee for debit cards and for any cards in many states!

I do the same thing. I have a "swipe fee, non-reimbursable" as a service option without a CPT code. I just add it to the invoice if a client uses a credit card (I use paypal).

I know this is already planned, but in the meantime what I've been doing is simple and works: adding "credit card fee" as service option and simply adding item to session invoice.

I'd like to be able to pass along credit card processing fees (for example if I use the service provided by TheraNest) such that the 3.5% fee can be calculated and added on the invoice. I also sometimes need to charge clients for parking in my building's parking garage, so the ability to add that kind of charge on an invoice would also be helpful.
