Automatically set appointment duration based on service type (Calendar & Client Portal)
When patient (or provider) makes appointment for patient, the calendar slot should auto match in length to the service selected (45 min, 30 min, 60 min). Having an auto time select based on the service length selected saves time and prevents the patient from accidentally or unintentionally over/underbooking the length of time.
Inversely, Clients are able to schedule an hour intake in a 30 min time slot. The portal needs some parameters to prevent this.

Add a default appointment length to the preferences page. Some practices have shorter appointments for certain types of appointments (i.e. TMS treatments).

Is there a way to Auto correct the "Duration in Minutes" field to match the CPT Code. For instance, if the CPT Code is 90834 (45/50 min session) can the "Duration in Minutes" auto correct to 45 (instead of 60)? Or is there a way for me to just auto set it for all of our staff? Our staff is forgetting to change that each time they enter a note (because it auto fills to 60mins).

When creating a service type, set a default length of time for that service. For example, and intake might be 90 minutes, but a regular session might be 60.
When client schedules it, the length of appointment is set already.
I don't want new client's to schedule an hour long phone consultation that is supposed to just be 15 minutes. And I don't want to have to check the time on every single appointment. Takes part of the automation benefit away of having a client portal.

I would like it to be even more flexible: Allow setting a default time increment (in five minute increments). Also allow overrides to select available blocks throughout the day (45 minute blocks, 55 minute blocks...).

give options for length of session time and have it linked to "service types"

If possible it should be locked and controlled by us on the organization end, since clients make this mistake very frequently. I absolutely agree!

90837 CPT is not required at 60 min, can you make a default of 55min?

It would really be helpful to have time tied to service code. Clients are frequently scheduling themselves for a 90 min code into a 60 min slot, bumping up against other appointments. It throws everything off.

Have a separate time scale for appointments requested on the portal vs scheduling my own appointments. I want to be able to schedule an appointment for any length of time, but I only want clients to be able to schedule in 60-minute increments.

Can the system automatically pre-populate services with time of session. For example a 90834 is always 45 minutes, the system will automatically put an appointment is as an hour unless you manually change it. This would be a nice streamlined feature.

When you set up a service, you can choose the duration like "30 mins"
but when you schedule this service, the calendar defaults to a 1 hour duration for every appointment.
Please make it so the calendar automatically adjusts the duration of the appointment to the duration set for the service.

Customize calendar times. On the clients portal I want to maintain that they schedule on the hour. But on my site I would like to have the ability to schedule events and sessions on the quarter hour, half hour, and hour. I often have appointments on the half hour, but allowing clients to schedule on the half hour misses up my day.

Some CPT codes are linked to a specific length of time.
So my suggestion is that a 45-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code 90834), e.g., when selected, should dictate that when you pick a 1:00pm start time, the default end time in the "create appointment" dialogue box should be 1:45. Currently I find it's either 2:00pm or 1:30.
