Enter clients as a couple or family
Allow me to enter clients as couples or families. I see mostly couples and I prefer not to split them up in TheraNest.

And, when seeing a couple or family, be able to add in multiple birthdays on the client detail page.

I realize that we need to have an identified patient for billing purposes but creating a couples/family as a "group" while counting each as a single case messes with several things.
1) instead of the case taking up one slot in our allotted client load spaces they take up two. This may not matter to giant group practices but for us little guys who are individual clinicians it forces us to pay higher costs than we should.
2) The current "group" approach creates a lot of additional work. (As a side note in NM we get plaid less for couples, despite it being twice engagement requirements). The current group approach requires the clinician to write up a group note...does that count for the progress note? NOPE...we then have to write TWO progress notes, one for each couple with individual MMSE and treatment plans. This is crazy extra...we need to have a couples setting that allows both parties to have individual consent documentation, a shared portal and notes being integrated.
If the couple are being seen as individual clients with another therapist within the same agency then fine they can have two separate case files but we still need a single one for the couples therapist to operate from.

So I am able to send consent forms to multiple people but only write one note at the end but with multiple mental statuses and only have to update one ledger and not have to zero out the other ledgers so they come up as "billed".

Can you please fix this feature? Billing is a nightmare

Please also fix the app so that it shows group appointments. I see couples and families and have to create a "group" for them. If I am checking my schedule on the app, I am erroneously led to believe I have an open slot where I had scheduled a group because group appointments do not show up on the app. Why shouldn't they?!?

Agree with many of the comments below - it is a hassle to treat couples / family cases as "groups" where each group member might be billed separately. It also takes up a client "spot" on my client list. If I am seeing a family of 4, it is one appointment, one payment, but takes up the space of 4 clients. I don't carry more than 30 active cases at a time but if I am seeing multiple families / couples at a time, I run out of space on my client list because each member is treated as an individual. PLEASE FIND AN ALTERNATE SOLUTION TO THIS

the only way to get both parties to sign paperwork is if i create two accounts, one for each "client" but the couple is the client. when i create a "family group" so that each of them can get reminders about the session (also only possible if they are each separate and in that group). But then I also need to create a family "case" for them together. I did individual assessments on them before they started so their individual assessment ends up in their individual case, and the only way to write notes on them for family therapy is to now create a family case. isn't it enough that I created a family group? now every time I go to write a note i have to select the right case. or i can close the individual case, but then the family case doesn't have their individual assessment. It's all the same case?
I also have to do double work when I bill them. I put it into one person's account but then have to go into the other person's account and finagle it all so my reports don't give me double what they actually paid.

How is this not done yet? It is a daily problem.

I don't mind having both folks sign off on their own individual consent forms, so I like that feature, but it's complicated when I have a family case, because I like to see each member of the couple individually for an assessment session before meeting with them together. there's no way to have a progress note for that initial session because I don't want to hav two cases open. family "groups" are still treated as groups, meaning the people are attending the same appt but not otherwise connected in anyway. So I'm having to do two invoices, and mark on as zero.

To treat family appointments the same way we treat groups is ineffective and inefficient. I like the idea of getting to have both/all family members sign intake forms and have all family members receive a reminder email/text/etc. But then going into manage the family session after an appointment is a nightmare. multiple notes to write, multiple invoices to create (even though it was all managed under one of their accounts), multiple cases because they have an individual case and a family case when I am really only seeing them for family (although I do like the feature of being able to do an initial eval for both members of a couple, that is not always feasible for family therapy with a minor).

Yes, a way to send both parties the intake paperwork and only have to write one note, create one invoice. Treating it like it is a "group" is very time consuming.

and see them with the same telehealth link. I have so many "extra" clients eating into my total # allowed because of this limitation.

I work primarily with families, often divorced or separated and I am struggling! The system is great for individual therapy but does not work well for families or couples. With two or more adults involved they can't see or access scheduling, billing, receipts for payment, etc.

Please add a feature that allows the client portal to be sent to multiple email addresses for families/couples

This is definitely needed for families!! We have multiple children being seen by different therapist and their parents are unable to have access to the portal due to only one email allowed to be used for one account. Allowing the parents access would make our lives a whole lot easier.

A primary would have to be identified but if it can be a check box to show as a couple or family! That would even be wonderful:)

This makes it difficult when the couple would like to trade off using credit cards but the appt is linked to the other person. It also means that both partners don't receive appts notifications.

As an organization that works primarily in couples/marriage counseling it can be a bit unhelpful that we have to put our clients in separately to send them paperwork or information via the client portal (it just doubles the effort when it could make it more simply to put everything in one place). Also, since you do not have an unlimited amount of clients as a payment option we are constantly having to juggle archiving clients because we do not have the space for everyone we see to be put in individual. The long and short of my idea is, making a feature that allows couples to be included within the same file and allowing them both be primary clients in a single client file.

I made a couple a group but this means that I can't see them on the app in my calendar. otherwise, it has worked out well for note taking, sort of.
