Allow clients to select from a list of available appointment times rather than selecting from the calendar
I would prefer having new and existing clients pick from a list of available start times (chosen by the therapist) rather than using the calendar. With some therapists having both top of the hour (1:00) and half hour start times (1:30) this makes it difficult for clients to know the therapists hours when scheduling. For example, they may click on 2:00-3:00 when on that day the therapist needs that appointment to be 2:30-3:30. This would mean having to call each client and tell them the actual appointment time therefore making the convenience of the self scheduling inconvenient.

It would be helpful to create appointment/scheduling blocks in the system for an intake coordinator to add and schedule clients in the system. Right now there is now way to view a clinicians schedule in the system to see open appointment time frames.

Allow client's to schedule their own appointments under only select therapists/staff. Instead of this setting turning on this option for all staff. Also, allow only specific times for client's to schedule appointments.

Better patient scheduling options. Be able to allow staff to put what hours are available, and patients can choose from those hours.

I’d like to have appointments at intervals that are not always on the hour.

I would like to add the ability to select the length of the time slot as we schedule from the app. I want my clients to only be able to schedule one hour time slots on the hour, but I want the ability to book one hour appointments on the half hour from my phone in the app without having to get to out of the app and into the website and change the calendar preference, then book it, then change it back to one hour. Or book a 30 min session on the half hour without having to go through all of that trouble.

It concerns me that the initial suggestion for this was posted in October 2017 and it is currently March 2020 and we still do not have this feature.

I would like an options for clients to select specific appointment times for their sessions rather than selecting from a large chunk of time. For example, I would like to have 15 minutes between sessions to write the note and prepare for my next session. I would like to offer clients appointment times such as 5:15pm-6:15pm and 6:30pm-7:30pm. I am concerned that a client will go into schedule through the client portal and see that I have from 5:15-7:30 available and select an appointment time 6-7pm which would shift my availability of two appointments to only one. I have seen other scheduling software that offers specific appointment times the client can choose from and I would prefer this option.

Calendar needs a complete improvement! Simple practice has it right and I'm getting ready to switch if there is no change in sight.
Please update the Calendar and availability time slots. Therapist should be able to open up only available time slots. From self scheduling link the process should like this:
1. Schedule open time slot on calendar (like calendy)
2. Enter credit card to secure
3. Enter personal information which triggers client portal registration
4. Sign forms.
I am currently using Calendy because you scheduling is not ideal.

I would love to see the option to send potential clients a link to schedule a 15 min (or whatever time I choose ) consultation call. As it stands, I can embed the new appointment request link in my website but it opens the option for them to book any service type that my existing clients have access to.
It would also be nice if they didn’t have access to the complete listing of open slots (for example, if I could limit these calls to a small window of the day).

Calendar on portal for client scheduling is difficult to use. I would like to be able to offer a couple of specific times. Client scheduling is much different than therapist scheduling.

I have been informed from clients that they "can't stand" (the cognitive distortion is not missed on that) the self-scheduler / calendar that is available to them on Theranest. The user-interface is cumbersome on all mobile apps and does not "easily" show available appointment times. They tell me they have to "click around" to set something up only to be told by the system that that slot is not open/available.
I have attached a picture (.pdf) here to show what I used to use on another platform.
Beginning to wonder if I should switch. Tell me now.

Agreed. This is the biggest area stopping me from using Client Portal. The scheduling does not give flexibility at all. I use calendly and while it has exactly what I need for scheduling it feels so disconnected. I would pay for client portal if the scheduling had more options and also allowed 2-way sync between calendar apps and TheraNest. I can send intakes and schedule for free but would certainly pay $6 for everything being one place and functional/useful.

Hello on the Calendar view it would be nice if the clients could see available times instead of just shaded areas.

The client portal is very vague and confusing, even to me as a clinician.
It should be changed to allow clients to sign up for assigned times in a bubble format vs. calendar format. Currently, the calendar has grey for booked and white for available but nothing in there shows what the colors mean.
The calendar in the portal for the client should just list available times
Check what time you want.
Unavailable times clients should be able to request an after hours session which the therapist must approve.

Many of my clients complain that the scheduling is too confusing and not user friend, especially if using a smart phone. It would be nice if the client clicked on the day, only the time you are available would pop up, instead of the whole calendar. for example a 10AM button, 1 PM Button etc. The client would just click on the button and schedule their session.

What I like about other programs is when clients go to schedule doesn’t show them entire calendar only gives them on the hour times available (for example, will only say 1pm instead of showing calendar and allowing clients to schedule-the open calendar function has clients scheduling off the hour leaving 15-30 min gaps in my schedule I cannot fill with other appointments

Key for clients as to what is available or not. double click instruction.

Create more clarity for portal users scheduling appointments online by differentiating available/unavailable times on a therapist's calendar. We have received lots of feedback from frustrated users that it is very difficult to find an available spot.

I would like to see a drop-down menu of times for clients to select. This would make it easier for them to select an accurate time in an available block (rather than selecting 10:25, for example, in an open block of 10:00 - 12:00). I use 5 minute increments because it's the only way I can schedule 55 minute blocks of time. If clients could see when the start time of the appointment would be, the system could automatically create a 55 minute session from that start time.

Is there a way to make it so clients can only schedule hour long appointments from the client portal? I have a lot of clients complaining about how it's hard to see what's available on the calendar, so they're trying to schedule 15 minute appointments, etc.
